Either Abram is crazy, or he believes that God will keep his promise. God told Abram that he’d bless him, and make him a blessing, and curse those who dishonor him, and that he’d give him the land of Canaan with as many children as the dust on the ground (Gen 12:1–9; 13:14–18).
